Let’s do a quick exercise. When you think of the word, “success,” what pops into your mind? Just take a minute to think about what your life looks like when you imagine yourself as “successful.”
What did you picture?
Was it riches and/or a fancy job title? Or perhaps you’re on an island somewhere, or living in a luxurious penthouse. For many, this is the pinnacle of success and something they strive for.
But not everyone wants that…
At Succeed On Purpose, we acknowledge that success is truly unique to each person. Maybe success for you is running a small company that provides a stable lifestyle and makes an impact. Or it’s being present and raising strong, kind children. Or it’s simply feeling comfortable in your own skin.
Have you ever thought about your own definition of success? Not the world’s? It doesn’t have to be about money in the bank or social media followers, unless that matters to you. You have your own individual definition of success.
Once you’ve realized success doesn’t fit into a one-size-fits-all box, determining your own version of success isn’t always simple. You may have spent your whole life living up to other’s expectations. Maybe your parents wanted you to become a doctor. Or you live in a neighborhood where society doesn’t expect you to make much of yourself. Perhaps your family expects you to settle down and become a parent or take over the family business.
But what do YOU want?
It’s not always easy to get the others’ voices out of your head and isolate your own, authentic voice. So, how do you define your own success?
At Succeed On Purpose, we have discovered that everyone has the same thing at the core of their success – their purpose. If you can identify your purpose, you get clarity. And if you can live in alignment with your purpose, you then set yourself on a path to achieve whatever you believe to be success. That’s the path to the best you!
And the best part is, it doesn’t matter what resources you have available to you. Your purpose is an inherent part of you and once you discover it, unleashing it feels natural and powerful. You’ll feel more joy in your pursuits. More confidence in your actions. And more fulfilled by simply being your authentic self.
Whatever your pursuits, if they are in alignment with living your purpose, you will feel incredible success.
Those two words to describe your purpose, will put clarity, meaning, and joy into any picture of success you have.
